Frequently asked questions

Where can I set the ellipsis or cutoff character?
You can choose the trailing marker: the default “…” single-character ellipsis, three periods “...”, or a custom string. Before shortening.
Does it cut off in the middle of a word?
No, by default it trims back to the nearest word boundary so you don't end up with a chopped-off word. You can switch to a strict character-count cutoff if you need an exact length instead.
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. Truncation happens entirely in your browser. The text never leaves your device or touches a server.
