- How is the tip amount calculated?
- Tip = bill amount × tip percentage. That tip is then either added to the total or split evenly across the number of people you enter.
- Does it round up to avoid awkward change?
- Yes. There's a round-up option that bumps the total (or per-person share) up to the nearest whole dollar, so nobody has to dig for coins.
- What if everyone had different-priced items?
- The even split assumes everyone pays the same share. If people ordered unevenly, enter each person's subtotal separately and apply the tip percentage to each before splitting, or just use the per-person total as a starting point and adjust.
