UTM Link Builder
Build UTM-tagged campaign links (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content) for Google Analytics. Free and private, right in your browser.
Build a properly tagged campaign URL by adding utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign (and optional term/content) parameters to any link, so clicks show up correctly attributed in Google Analytics, GA4, or your ad platform's reporting instead of landing in "direct" or "unknown".
How to use it
- Paste the destination URL you want to promote
- Fill in source, medium, and campaign (add term or content if needed)
- Copy the generated tagged link to use in your email, ad, or post
Frequently asked questions
- What's the difference between utm_source, utm_medium, and utm_campaign?
- utm_source is where the click comes from (e.g. newsletter, facebook, google), utm_medium is the channel type (e.g. email, cpc, social), and utm_campaign names the specific push (e.g. summer_sale). Source and medium are required for analytics tools to bucket traffic correctly; campaign ties it to one effort.
- Will adding UTM tags break my link or hurt my SEO?
- No. UTM parameters are just extra query string values appended after a ?, so the link still goes to the same page. They don't affect SEO rankings, but if you use the same page with different UTM combinations a lot, set a canonical tag so search engines don't treat each tagged variant as a separate URL.
- Does this tool send my URLs anywhere?
- No, the whole thing runs in your browser: you type in a destination URL and tags, and the tagged link is assembled locally with no server call, so nothing you build here is logged or transmitted.
