- How do I calculate a price that already includes tax?
- Switch to the reverse mode and enter the total you paid plus the tax rate. The calculator backs out the original pre-tax price and the tax amount separately.
- Can I use this for a combined state and local rate?
- Yes, just add your state and local (county/city) rates together into one number before entering it, for example 6.25% state + 1% local = 7.25%.
- Does it round the same way a cash register does?
- It rounds the final tax and total to the nearest cent using standard rounding, matching how most point-of-sale systems display the final charge.
